A day spent at Little Woodbank with our new Botanical Collection

A day spent at Little Woodbank with our new Botanical Collection

I know, I know, this collection has technically been available for a few months at recent markets I've attended, but I've only recently gotten around to photographing our new Botanical Candles. Life is busy!!

I had been eagerly anticipating this day, having been at Little Woodbank House last year for my Christmas photoshoot with Native Ivy.  I knew it was the perfect spot for getting that Spring / Summer ambience I wanted for this Collection.

So I bundled up the car boot and off I went with every ornament, plant, prop & candle paraphernalia I could find around my (and my mother's!) home and off I set on the most glorious of sunny mornings I could have hoped for.

Here I met Paula, aka @type_writer_girl for the first time.  Her botanical photography had caught my eye on Instagram so I reached out to see if she fancied working with me and I was delighted when she agreed!  Zara (owner of Little Woodbank), and her gorgeous dog Henry, welcomed us into her home and gave us a tour of the many, many gorgeous rooms that she has decorated so uniquely.

I had a vision for the three fragrances in this collection.  Each is uniquely distinctive yet together they pair perfectly. For Olive & Thyme the obvious choice was a Meiterranean theme; for Lemon Balm I wanted a bright yet cosy breakfast type atmosphere and for Bog Myrtle;  I wanted it to be outdoors with a very natural / botanical feel. We followed the sunlight around the house throughout the day, starting in the Blue Kitchen of Dreams that both Paula & I immediately fell in love with (I'm now waiting on blue paint samples to arrive for my own kitchen cupboards...) and finished off in the garden amongst the cow parsley with some beautiful vintage furniture Zara kindly let us carry outside.

Four hours (which felt like four minutes!) later and we were done. Next time I will definitely book a longer time to spend here as there are so many more beautiful rooms we didn't get the chance to use!

Let us know which scent you're excited to try first.
